I don't know, But the mesh does not work with my squirrels and they are chasing the birds away.

Hello-I was hoping this would help deter Squirrels, as you can see, it doesn’t at all. For a reference I do have the feeder attached to a wood fence post. It does help the larger girds from spilling seed a bit. I WISH you could design Side panels to block squirrels, I rigged up foil pans and zip ties to help block them, (see pic) along with coffee grounds (squirrels), and the diatomaceous earth (ants). I need to fix the foil pans again, and clean out the feeder once the food is gone, since the carpenter and red ants are climbing into the feeder from the fence. Engineering ideas: 1) Side panels to block squirrels 2) A water moat that surrounds the house to block ants! There is one for hummingbirds but not large birds so it can attach to the rim of the feeder. 3) A housing unit to protect the solar wire. I tried to rig up some sort of protective wall for that, even though foil is not truly safe due to heat. I live in South Carolina so it’s always so hot here. 4) Partner with someone or create a gel that can stop ants, but yet not harm birds. OK I think that is all I can think of, and I do TRULY LOVE watching the birds come. Just a few hiccups that need fixed! Thank you! Susan

Wonderful addition to our feeder! The squirrels make less of a mess and the birds have extra spots to sit and eat!

Fits perfectly! Seems to help deter the squirrels; they do come but cannot scoop up seeds and clean out feeder in a day.

Does not work at all. In fact, I think the squirrels enjoy the additional “challenge” of getting their tiny paws into the metal grid. The image you see is 2 squirrels enjoying food at the same time.

Does not deter any squirrels

So far the squirrel hasn't figured out how to defeat the mesh. I'm happy that I dont have to keep filling up the bird seed frequently.

I actually got this to keep larger Stellar Jays from sweeping all the feed (sunflower seeds) out of the feeder tray with their beaks. It’s working great, saving me a ton of food/mess, and the smaller birds are happy too! It’s metal and very strong; should last for a long time.

I’m not sure how to rate this. It fits and it keeps birds and other animals from standing directly in the seed, so that’s a plus. It doesn’t do a thing to keep rats out of the feeder though. Maybe it works on squirrels but not other rodents?

Iron Anti-Squirrel Mesh, compatible with BirdSnap TUC, PAV, and P53n
Works great at stopping birds and critters from knocking out all the seed.

Somewhat disappointed with the handling of my order. There was quite a delay before order was processed - upon inquiry, since I am located outside the continental U.S., items had to be shipped directly from their overseas factory. Squirrels are non-existent in our area of residence, but the mesh is very effective against the larger aggressive birds, significantly restricting their large beaks from breaching the grate openings (i.e. Rose ringed parakeets). The invasive zebra doves still congregate, but along with other improvised restrictive barriers, the grate adds an additional challenge to get to the feed. No restrictions observed on the smaller birds like the Java/House finch and Northern cardinal. Highly recommend. 4/5 stars due to shipping delay.

It’s easy to install and looks great. Birds are able to access the seed and unfortunately the squirrels figured it, too They are over the top devious creations so I don’t fault the grate. Well made and quick shipping.

Fit perfectly and sat shipping.

Works great way less seed waisted and keeps squirrels off feeder camera. Squirrels just focus on my other feeders which is fine

The metal crate works great, but the squirrels still stuck their skinny little fingers in there to get the food out. I took the crate off because I have a bird that has 1 foot and he was having trouble with it. I still give the accessories, the whole entire camera, etc. 10!!!!!

Definitely keeps seed from being displaced on the ground and keeps squirrels out of the food. My seed would be gone in like 3 hrs now it last one filling a few days. The squirrels eat off my non camera feeders which is fine

Just put it up. I’m concerned that squirreling paws can reach in to get feed. Also concerned about how smaller birds will reach seed

Definitely did not prevent squirrels from eating bird seed. Did reduce the amount of bird seed scattered by the birds.

The squirrels came but were not able to over indulge by pulling all the seed out but it also did not allow the seed to flow and it was stuck unless I shook the feeder. It also did not allow the cardinals any access to food due to the size of the holes not working with their beaks.

Keeps the squirrels out and the birds too. Squirrels then try to obtain seed from the top of the container damaging it. Not happy with this purchase.

Keeps the squirrels out, but many birds cannot access the seed. Tried to see if I could return, but never received a response. Save your money and don’t buy this.

This totally does not stop squirrels from eating the bird seed.

The grid was pretty easy to secure to the feeder. The squirrel still appeared on the feeder, sometimes staying for hours, completely ignoring the alarm. When we inspected the feeder, we found that the squirrel had chewed the plastic away on the side of the feeder to get to the seed under the grid! Were moving the feeder and putting it on a pole with a cone. We'll see how that goes.

The covers came as expected shipping just took a bit longer than expected.

It looks good but doesn't stop the squirrels at all.

Works well! A bit pricey though.

Works great, the birds can’t throw the seeds all over ground now. Well made. Shipping was fast!

Installed in a minute or less. I was worried the birds wouldn't get food through the screen. But they do easily. However, the squirrel still gets to it. by shaking the feeder. It has slowed it down though.

The squirrel screen is sturdy and was easy to install on my feeder. So far, it hasn't deterred the squirrels from visiting. They are spending less time and eating less of the seed, so I'm hopeful they will stop coming to eat over time. I also use the squirrel deterrent bird seed with habenero oil, which has also contributed to shorter squirrel visits (and doesn't affect the birds' appetites).
