How Do I Share My BirdSnap Camera with My Friend or Family Member?

Open the BirdSnap app, go to your device's Share settings, and generate a QR code. Your friend or family member scans this code in their own BirdSnap app and sends a share request. You approve the request, and they gain access to your camera's live stream and recordings. There is no limit to how many people you can share with.
What's Happening
BirdSnap's camera sharing works by giving additional accounts view-only access to your device — without sharing your login credentials. Each person uses their own BirdSnap account and only needs to install the app and create a free account to receive access.
Before You Start
The person you are sharing with needs to:
- Download the BirdSnap app (App Store or Google Play)
- Create a free BirdSnap account and log in
Step-by-Step: Sharing Your Camera
You (the camera owner) should:
Step 1 — Open the BirdSnap app and tap on your camera's live view or device tile.
Step 2 — Tap the settings icon (top right) to open Device Settings.
Step 3 — Tap Share → Device Sharing. A QR code will be generated.
Step 4 — Share this QR code with your friend or family member — take a screenshot and send it, or show it to them in person.
Your friend or family member should:
Step 1 — Open the BirdSnap app and tap the + icon or look for Add Friend's Device.
Step 2 — Select Scan QR Code to Connect Device.
Step 3 — Scan the QR code you provided and tap Request to Share.
Back to you (the camera owner):
Step 1 — You will receive a share request notification in the app. Tap Approve to grant access.
If you miss the initial notification, find it by going to your device's Share settings → Application List and approving the pending request from there.
