How Do I Connect a Second Phone to My BirdSnap Smart Bird Feeder?

To connect a second phone, do not log in to your existing account on the new phone — this will sign you out of the first device. Instead, create a new BirdSnap account on the second phone and use the camera sharing feature to grant access. The second phone will then have its own independent view of the same feeder.

What's Happening

BirdSnap accounts support only one active login at a time. If you enter your username and password on a second phone, the app on the first phone will be logged out. To have two phones watching the same feeder without this conflict, you share the camera across two separate accounts rather than sharing one account across two phones.

Step-by-Step: Adding a Second Phone

On the second phone:

Step 1 — Download and install the BirdSnap app from the App Store or Google Play.

Step 2 — Tap Sign Up and create a new BirdSnap account using a different email address.

Step 3 — Once logged in, tap the + icon or Add Friend's DeviceScan QR Code to Connect Device.

On your primary phone (the camera owner's phone):

Step 1 — Open the BirdSnap app and go to your camera's Device Settings.

Step 2 — Tap ShareDevice Sharing. A QR code will appear.

Step 3 — Show or send this QR code to the second phone.

Back on the second phone:

Step 4 — Scan the QR code and tap Request to Share.

Back on your primary phone:

Step 5 — Approve the share request when it appears. The camera will now be visible and accessible on both phones simultaneously.

What If You Only Have One Email Address?

You can create a second BirdSnap account using a different email address or a phone number. Gmail and other providers also allow you to create aliases (e.g., yourname+birdsnap2@gmail.com) that receive mail to the same inbox — this can be used to register a second account if needed.
