Step 3 — Toggle Motion Detection Notification off to stop all motion alerts from this camera, or back on to resume them.
This setting can be adjusted anytime and takes effect immediately.
Method 2 — Use Do Not Disturb (Temporary Mute)
If you want to pause notifications for a short time — during a meeting, at night, or while watching a film — Do Not Disturb is the better option. Notifications resume automatically after the set period, and the camera continues recording throughout.
Step 1 — On the BirdSnap app home page, tap the bell icon in the top corner.
Step 2 — Select a mute duration (e.g., 1 hour, 4 hours, until morning) or set a custom schedule.
Step 3 — The bell icon will show as crossed or indicate a timer while DND is active. Tap it again to cancel early.
Method 3 — Adjust Notification Permissions at the System Level
If you want BirdSnap notifications handled at the phone's operating system level — for example, to allow notifications but suppress the sound or badge — go to your phone's Settings:
- iPhone: Settings → Notifications → BirdSnap. Adjust banners, sounds, and badges individually.

For Shared Users
If your camera has been shared with family or friends, each user controls their own notification preferences independently in their own app. Turning off your notifications does not affect the notifications received by people you have shared the camera with.
