How Do I Delete Videos in My BirdSnap Smart Feeder?

Cloud videos can be deleted directly in the BirdSnap app. Memory card videos cannot be deleted from the app — you need to either connect the card to a computer via a card reader and delete files there, or format the card from within the app (which erases everything on it). Note that deleted videos cannot be recovered.
What's Happening
BirdSnap stores videos in two places: the cloud (accessible in the app) and an optional local memory card. Each storage type has a different deletion method, and it is worth understanding which you are dealing with before proceeding.
Deleting Cloud Videos
Step 1 — Open the BirdSnap app and tap the Library (album) icon at the bottom of the screen.
Step 2 — Browse to the video you want to delete. Tap and hold the clip to activate selection mode, or look for an Edit or multi-select option.
Step 3 — Select the videos you want to remove and tap Delete. Confirm when prompted.
Note: Free accounts store the last 3 days of cloud videos on a rolling basis — older videos are automatically removed. Subscribed accounts store up to 15 days.
Deleting Memory Card Videos
Videos stored on the memory card cannot be deleted from within the BirdSnap app. To remove them:
Option A — Delete on a computer:
Step 1 — Power off the camera before removing the card. Press and hold the power button until the device shuts down. Removing the card while the camera is running risks data corruption.
Step 2 — Remove the memory card from the slot on the top of the camera.
Step 3 — Insert the card into a card reader and connect it to your computer.
Step 4 — Browse the card's file directory and delete the video files you no longer need.
Step 5 — Safely eject the card reader and reinsert the card into the camera.
Option B — Format the card (erases everything):
If you want to clear all footage at once rather than selecting individual files, you can format the card from the app:
Step 1 — Open the BirdSnap app and go to Camera Settings.
Step 2 — Find the Storage or SD Card option.
Step 3 — Tap Format and confirm. All data on the card will be permanently erased.
Back up any clips you want to keep before formatting.
Important: Deleted Videos Cannot Be Recovered
Once a cloud video is deleted from the Library, or a memory card is formatted, the footage cannot be restored. If there are clips you want to keep permanently, download them to your phone first:
- In the app Library, select a clip and tap Save to download it to your phone's photo gallery.
