Where Is the Memory Card Slot on My BirdSnap Camera?

What's Happening

The silicone cover on top of the camera serves as a waterproof seal for all the top-access ports and slots: the power button, the reset hole (P-hole), and the memory card slot. Keeping this cover firmly closed when the memory card is inserted protects the card and the camera's internals from moisture.

How to Insert a Memory Card

Step 1 — Locate the white silicone cover on the top of the camera unit. Gently peel it back to expose the controls underneath.

Step 2 — Insert the memory card into the card slot in the correct orientation. The card should slide in smoothly — do not force it. If it does not go in easily, flip it over and try again.

Step 3 — Push the card in until it clicks into place. The camera will play the voice prompt "SD card detected" to confirm successful insertion.

Step 4 — Close the silicone cover firmly to maintain waterproofing before returning the camera outdoors.

How to Remove a Memory Card

Step 1 — Power the camera off first by long-pressing the power button. Removing a memory card while the camera is running risks data corruption.

Step 2 — Open the silicone cover and press the top of the memory card gently. It will spring out automatically.

Step 3 — The camera will play the voice prompt "SD card removed" when the card is ejected.

Step 4 — Gently pull the card out and close the silicone cover.
